Christopher’s Village Shop celebrates 15 years of trading with Open Morning.

Christopher’s Village Shop in Eyhorne Street is today celebrating 15 years of trading with a festive Open Morning where seasonal items are on offer.

Christopher Rudgard (78), retired IBM executive opened the shop in 2003 after the previous village shop had closed. Apart from a recently opened barber shop in a the premises of a former hairdresser, the shop is the only retail outlet for several miles around and a lifeline for many Hollingbourne residents as the nearest supermarket in Harrietsham is three miles away.

The back room of the shop is also a post office offering some banking facilities on Wednesdays.
