DIY help for the elderly in Kent.

Involve Kent, formerly known as Voluntary Action Maidstone has launched a DIY and gardening service for elderly residents in the Maidstone area. Please Read More for further information.

I am writing to you today to tell you about our gardening and DIY service for vulnerable and older people operating in Maidstone and the surrounding areas. The service is run by our local charity Involve Kent. We aim to support communities, and improve the quality of local people’s lives through various projects that we run. You can find out more about us on our website

This service operates with our handyman and a group of volunteers who will go to a client’s home and help them with their gardening/DIY/cleaning needs, anything from cutting a hedge back to painting the living room!

Some people will be eligible for the service for free, and those who are not eligible will be charged a reduced rate! (see the poster for full details)

Eligibility will be confirmed after a short telephone call with the client.

We are really keen to get out and reach even more vulnerable members of the community who are struggling with their garden and home, or who would just like a reliable and friendly, reduced rate service and are unable to do the work themselves.

I would really appreciate if you could put the attached poster up onto a notice board in your parish, so we can spread the word of this excellent service!

Please also let me know if you would be happy for me to send more information and leaflets about our other services aimed at supporting the local community, in the future.

Thank you for your time,

Kind Regards,

Chloe-Ann Osborn
