The Downs Mail is to publish an article about the development of 10 large houses alongside Windmill Lane which was approved by Maidstone Borough Council on 26th April 2018 despite much opposition from Hollingbourne principally because of the narrow access and potential danger to pedestrians. They would like as many residents as possible to come along for group photograph with MBC Councillor Patrik Garten who spoke at the Planning Meeting against the development and in support of affordable housing for Hollingbourne. All are welcome and please bring a friend.
Pictured below is the entrance to the Public Footpath which is partly owned by EI Group PLC, the landlords of the Windmill PH and the Village Hall. They have not renewed the lease on the Hall which expired in August 2016 pending the outcome of the planning application for the 10 x million pound houses. It is possible that the PH forecourt will be used as the drive in as the Footpath is only 5 metres wide at the Eyhorne Street kerb before narrowing to 3 metres.
