A Service of Remembrance to be attended by members of the Leeds and Hollingbourne branch of the Royal British Legion who are celebrating their 97th anniversary. Wreaths will also be laid at the Village War Memorials in Leeds and Hollingbourne and in the churches at Broomfield, Leeds, and Hollingbourne..
The following services will be held:
10.45am Hollingbourne Church

12.45pm Hollingbourne War Memorial
2pm Service of dedication for 100 trees planted in the Hollingbourne Meadow to mark the centenary of the end of WW1.
7pm onwards the bells of All Saints’ church will be rung to mark the centenary and a beacon will be lit at the same time close to the 100 trees in the Meadow. All are invited to attend the lighting of the beacon which is part of a national chain of beacons to be lit at the same time. Please bring your own refreshments. Pictured below is the 2013 Hollingbourne War Memorial Remembrance Ceremony with visitors from Templeuve who will not be in attendance this year as Armistice Day in France clashes with Remembrance Sunday in England. The memorial is in Eyhorne Street close to Hollingbourne County Primary School.
