Tickets are available from Christopher’s Village Shop for the Hollingbourne Pantomime “The Pied Piper of Hamelin” which will be performed in the Village Hall from Wednesday 8th February to Saturday 11th February at 7.45pm each evening with a matinee performance on Saturday at 2.15pm.
The story is based on an incident in 1284 in Hamelin following a plague of rats when 130 children mysteriously disappeared. The event is marked by a stained glass window which was erected in a Hamelin church in c1300. A number of versions of the story have been told including one in a poem by Robert Browning. This is the Peter Bonds and Hollingbourne version which is hopefully more entertaining!
