French Zumba dancers back for the Village Fete by public demand!

Templeuve’s team of zumba dancers will be back for the Hollingbourne Annual Fete and Exemption Dog Show on Saturday 10th June which starts at 1pm on the Lance Memorial Playing Field. The Fete will be opened by the Mayor of Maidstone, Councillor Malcolm Greer and the theme of the Fete is Cartoon Characters.

Around 35 French people will be coming to the Fete from Hollingbourne’s twin community of Templeuve en Peveule near Lille. Hollingbourne residents have been invited to attend the Templeuve Festival weekend on 24th and 25th June. Among the many stalls will be the Women’s Institute Hook a Duck Stall and Val Williams writes:-

Hook a Duck Stall – featuring the ancient art of Duck Hooking to win badges . The Highest Score of the day wins a Minnie Mouse Cake, specially designed and cooked by Penny Smith, to share with family and friends.   Duck Hookers under 3 years old will be presented with a unique Blue Duck.   Minnie Mouse will be in attendance on the day and available for selfies!
