From the archives – the “Deputy Prime Minister’s” visit to Hollingbourne.

Mr David Lidington MP who has today been appointed as “Deputy Prime Minister” or more formally the Cabinet Office Minister and Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster visited Hollingbourne in 2012 to see how the Channel Tunnel Rail Link (HS1) had affected Hollingbourne. He was and still is the Member of Parliament for Aylesbury where he has been criticised by his local paper, the Bucks Herald, for his failure to vote against HS2.

Pictured below is Mr Lidington in Eyhorne Street with a member of Hollingbourne Parish Council.
