Hollingbourne Twinning Committee to visit Templeuve to lay wreaths on UK graves.

Members of the Hollingbourne Twinning Committee, the Leeds and Hollingbourne Branch of the Royal British Legion, and others will be travelling to Templeuve en Peveule on Thursday 9th November to lay wreaths on the graves in the town cemetery of the two British soldiers who died on the retreat to Dunkirk in WW2.

In previous years a coach has gone from Hollingbourne on 11th November to attend the Armistice Day events in Templeuve which are attended by hundreds of people. Also in other years representatives from Templeuve have attended the Remembrance Day events in Hollingbourne.

This year owing to decline in the level of interest and the fact that Armistice Day is on Saturday 11th November and Remembrance Day is on Sunday 12th November, it has been decided to send a small party to Templeuve to lay the wreaths and to have an informal lunch with members of the Templeuve Twinning Committee. For more details of the day trip please contact Derek Davison on Tel 880650.
