At 6.30am this morning a white van was in collision with two cars in Upper Street in Hollingbourne and pictures appear below. The noise of the accident woke up many people.
Local residents including Tania Shillingford have complained about the traffic through the medieval Upper Street which is narrow and the fact that the 30 mph speed limit often appears to be ignored.
Hollingbourne Parish Council has objected to a number of new developments in the village which have been imposed by Maidstone Borough Council because of traffic problems. Most mornings the one-way sections of the B2163/C603 which include Eyhorne Street and Upper Street are jammed .
