This morning Jim Findlay, Churchwarden of All Saints’s Parish Church in Hollingbourne, announced the name of the new Team Vicar who will live in Hollingbourne Vicarage from the Autumn of this year. The new appointee, the Reverend Paul Kite, comes from the Benefice of West Sheppey which includes Minster Abbey, Holy Trinity in Queenborough, on the Isle of Sheppey, Holy Trinity with Saint Paul’s in Sheerness, and Saint Peter’s in Halfway. The Reverend Kite will also minister to the other parishes on the Pilgrim’s Way within the North Downs Benefice. Apart from Hollingbourne these include the churches at Hucking, Thurnham, Detling, Boxley, and Grove Green. Hollingbourne has been without an incumbent since the retirement of the Reverend Nigel Fry in April 2015.
The clergy team for the North Downs Benefice will include the Rector, the Canon John Corbyn in Bearsted, the Reverend Steve Hughes who will cover Leeds, Broomfield, Langley, and Otham, Graham Bibby who has recently been appointed as a Missioner who will concentrate on the new housing around Maidstone and who will live in Grove Green, and the Reverend Paul Kite. In Bearsted Canon John Corbyn is assisted by the Reverend Lesley Ludlow and The Reverend Melissa Carter. Prior to becoming a priest Mr Kite was a Tax Inspector with HMRC.

APPOINTMENT OF NEW TEAM VICAR
I am delighted to announce that the Revd Paul Kite has accepted the post of Team Vicar for the Pilgrims Way Area.
Paul has been curate on the Isle of Sheppey. A joint Licensing of Paul, together with Graham Bibby our new Missionary, is due to take place on 25th September at Boxley Church.
I am sure you will wish to join me in welcoming Paul, his wife Karen and their children to the Vicarage.
