Over 200 entries for the Summer Show.
There were over 200 entries for the Leeds Castle and Hollingbourne Garden Society Summer Show in the Village Hall today with former Chelsea gold medallist Gordon Bristow taking the best in show prize. The judging was carried out by Janine Doulton who also judges at shows at RHS Wisley.
The setting up this morning of exhibits for the 60 classes in the Hall was delayed for a short period when it was discovered that wire had been jammed into the front door locks. This was the second incident of vandalism at the Hall this week. Earlier in the week the front door was daubed with red liquid.
As well as diisplays of flowers and other plants, there were activities for children, produce stalls, a raffle, and refreshments including cream teas.
