Proposed boundary changes may mean new constituency for Hollingbourne.

Proposals to reduce the number of MP’s may mean that Hollingbourne’s constituency of Faversham and Mid Kent ceases to exist with Hollingbourne and much of the local area joining with Tonbridge to form a new constituency. Hollingbourne Parish Council has received the following message from the Kent Association of Local Councils about a public consultation which ends on 11the December 2017.

Dear Member Councils

As you will know, the UK Parliament has decided to reduce the number of parliamentary constituencies, and therefore MPs, from 650 to 600. In England, the number of constituencies will reduce from 533 to 501.

The Boundary Commission for England is currently conducting a review of parliamentary constituencies and is seeking views on their proposals, which can be accessed via the following link The deadline for comments to the Boundary Commission is 11 December 2017.

Kind Regards

Terry Martin
