Rio Olympics Summer Fete Programme published.

The Rio Summer Olympics themed programme for the Summer Fete and Exemption Dog on Saturday 11th June has now been published. The day’s events will start at 12.30pm with a motorcade  of classic and interesting cars from the Village Hall through the village to the Lance Memorial Playing Field where the Fete is to be held. Programme of Events


12.30pm – Classic Cars leave The Windmill PH car park – any car owner who would like to take part is invited to be at the Village Hall for the motorcade.

12.45pm – Classic Cars arrive at the Fete and parade in the arena

1.00pm – Fete Opening Ceremony by Sir David Steel (CEO of Leeds Castle)

1.05pm – Judging of stalls by Sir David Steel

1.15pm – Sports Events in arena organised by Val and Alan Williams.*

2.30pm – Maypole Dancing by Hollingbourne Primary School with Ralph Baldock.

3.00pm – Exemption Dog Show organised by Sharon Farrington.*

4.15pm – Direction Performing Arts Dance Group.

4.50pm – Prize giving

5.00pm – Tug o’ war competition – teams of eight are invited.

5.30pm – Fete closes and evening events begin.

The evening events include music from the Screaming Blue Scoundrels and a bar with street food provided by the Dirty Habit Public House. The boules piste will also be available during the day for anybody who wishes to play against the visitors from Hollingbourne’s twin community of Templeuve near Lille.
