Still no Station Lane lights after over a month of darkness. – UPDATED.

The Station Lane lights which are the responsibility of South Eastern Trains have been dark for over a month now and there is no sign that they will be lit again despite a number of complaints to the company. The Lane is long and very dark and is potentially dangerous as there is no footpath. UPDATE – A lighting engineer attended on 11th October over a month after the fault was reported to South Eastern Trains.

South Eastern Trains were advised of the problem by a member of Hollingbourne Parish Council on 8th September and a response was received from their Natalie Smeeth in Ashby de la Zouche on 21st September to the effect that the matter had been passed to Station Manager Steve Bowen. It is understood that other residents and commuters have also complained about the lack of lighting and the poor maintenance of the verges.

South Eastern Trains have also recently informed Maidstone Borough Council that they want to close the Recycling Site at the end of Station Lane.
