Volunteers give Hollingbourne a spring clean.

Local residents joined together today to give Hollingbourne a spring clean by picking up litter through the village. The event was organised by Gill Phelan and started from Hasteds where bags, hi-vis jackets, litter-picker claws, and safety gloves from Maidstone Borough Council were available.

Over twenty bags were collected but not all of the fly-tipping around the village was accessible and particularly several black bags at the top of the M20 motorway embankment at the bridge in Eyhorne Street.

Pictured below are some of the volunteers with Gill Phelan in the hat before starting out at Hasteds.
