Waterside Park construction likely to begin in October 2016.
Hollingbourne Parish Council has learnt that Gallagher’s High Court Appeal against the Public Inquiry Inspector’s refusal to grant planning permission for Waterside Park at Junction 8 of the M20 has been successful and that a contract to build the warehousing development has been awarded with a likely start date of October 2016.
The devopment was opposed by Kent County Council, Maidstone Borough Council, CPRE, Natural England, Leeds Castle, local MP Mrs Helen Whately, and the Joint Parishes Group mrepresenting 23,000 local residents including Hollingbourne Parish Council. THe Public Inquiry was held in May 2015 in County Hall and the decision of the Inspector was announced in July. Gallagher’s have successfully appealed against the decision and local residents are concerned that a further development by Roxhill PLC may go ahead on the Woodcut Farm site on the opposite side of the A20.
