Woodland Trust raises £750,000 to extend Hucking Estate.

The Woodland Trust has just raised £750,000 to buy an additional 116 acres at Hucking to extend their Estate to 689 acres. The Estate is to the west of the top of Hollingbourne Hill and includes part of the North Downs which overlooks Hollingbourne and the Weald. The Estate is popular with dog walkers, hikers, and nature lovers. Bordering the Estate is Saint Margaret’s Church in Hucking and the popular Hook and Hatchet PH which has a campsite. The Woodland Trust is a registered charity and is based in Grantham in Lincolnshire.

There is a free public car park just before the Church on the way from the top of Hollingbourne Hill. Additional car parking is available at the Hook and Hatchet PH which is beyond the Church. It can also be reached by going up Broad Street Hill from the Pilgrim’s way.
