An appeal for sponsorship from Mark Phelan for a 150 mile British Legion Bike Ride to Ypres.

Hasteds resident Mark Phelan is looking for sponsor for a 150 mile bike ride in aid of the Royal British Legion from Aylesford to Ypres. Please Read More for the appeal from Mark who has lived in Hollingbourne for many years.

This July, I and a whole bunch of other like minded people, both civilians and ex-military folk, some with life changing injuries, are undertaking a 150 mile bike ride in order to raise much needed funds for RBLI military personnel who have been adversely affected by battle in some way. Last year I managed to complete the course with about thirty others, and was rewarded with some generous donations and a very emotional visit to the Menin Gate, where we attended the service and they played The Last Post.

This year we hope to have more than double that amount of riders and hope to encourage many more donations.

As you can imagine, the aim is to raise as much money as possible for this very worthy cause and so I am now coming to you, cap in hand, to ask if you would please be able to give a much as you can afford to help our brave, hard working military who now find themselves in need.
MP Flooring (SE) Ltd have kicked things off by sponsoring me with £500. Anything you can give either personally or arranged through your business will be very gratefully accepted and put to good use.

Thank you for reading this and many thanks if you are able to donate.
