Benenden Hospital news

Staff from the private, Benenden Hospital in Kent are now supporting NHS colleagues in the fight against Coronavirus.

A team of theatre staff from the independent hospital have been seconded, or have volunteered, to work at the William Harvey Hospital, Ashford, which is part of the East Kent Hospital University NHS Foundation Trust.

Jane Abbott, Chief Nurse at Benenden Hospital said:

“I’m immensely proud that we have a team supporting our nursing colleagues in the NHS at this difficult time.”

The partnership between NHS England and the Independent Healthcare Providers Network means Benenden Hospital will also welcome some patients from Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust to its Bensan Ward, where they will continue their recuperation from various treatments initially undertaken at that Trust’s hospitals.

The hospital is also displaying a mass of rainbow logos  in their reception area, showing the public’s support for NHS workers.

Claire Harley, Director of Patient Services at Benenden Hospital said:

“The rainbow has become the symbol of public support for NHS workers, and we wanted to show our own appreciation of the incredible efforts being made by nursing colleagues across the NHS by dedicating a rainbow window to them.”

Anyone who wishes to, can have their own rainbow featured on the Benenden Hospital Facebook Page by sending their drawings to the following email address: marketingbht@benenden.org.uk
