A well refreshed Manchester United fan returning from Manchester’s 2-0 away victory in the fifth round of the FA Cup over Chelsea on Monday night woke up several residents of Godfrey Meadow early yesterday morning ( Tuesday19th February). Apparently he was unable to call a taxi from Hollingbourne Station to take him to the Tudor Park Marriott Hotel where he had booked a room.
It appears that he got off the London train at Hollingbourne Station where he tried to call a taxi but could not get a mobile phone signal. He then started ringing doorbells on houses in Godfrey Meadow in the hope that somebody could call a taxi. The disturbance caused one resident to set off a burglar alarm and Kent Police attended.
It is understood that they gave the fan a free ride to his hotel on the Ashford Road between Hollingbourne and Bearsted!
