Death of Hollingbourne Parish Councillor Michael Gray.

Michael Gray

It is with great sadness that we report on the passing of Parish Councillor Michael Gray. Michael sadly died in a German hospital on the morning of 26th December. Following a heart attack on the 15th, he was surrounded by his wife Birgit and five children who flew out to be with him in intensive care in the days prior to him passing away.

Although Michael and Birgit maintained a house in Hollingbourne, they lived for a period of time in the Low Countries where Michael worked in IT for a distribution business. Birgit (nee Temple) grew up in Hollingbourne where her late father ran a successful osteopathy practice from Tanyard. Her mother passed away in Canterbury in the not too distant past.

Their son Joshua benefited from an international education and was keen to work in the German aviation sector in Munich with a company making driverless vehicles.

Apart from serving on the Parish Council, the Grays enjoyed caravanning and this year took their caravan to the north of Scotland.

Michael will be greatly missed by the village, the council and all who knew him.

The date of the funeral is yet to be announced .
