Death of Hollingbourne’s oldest resident at 103.

The death occurred yesterday (5th May) of Mrs Margaret Warren whose 103rd birthday was on 8th January. She lived in one of the houses close to the Vicarage in Upper Street and overlooked the former Hollingbourne Point to Point Course. She and her late husband, Major Warren, were at one time keen followers of Point to Point racing.

Mrs Warren was formerly very active in a number of Hollingbourne organisations including the Royal British Legion. For many years up into her 90’s Mrs Warren went to Hollingbourne County Primary School to listen to the children reading on a regular basis.  More information is below.
