HOKH launches Autumn programme of fund raising events.

Our September events update has a decidedly autumn feel, embracing the cooler days and darker nights.  We’ve a range of events giving you the opportunity to update your autumn winter wardrobe; help us turn the streets of Aylesford, Larkfield , Leybourne and West Malling a glowing pink and enjoy a Gilbert and Sullivan comic operetta.

Moonlit Walk – Saturday 12 October from 7:00pm with walk starting at 8:00pm
We are on countdown here at the Hospice with just two weeks to go until we light up the streets in pink t-shirts, bunny ears and glow in the dark accessories! Join us at our annual Moonlit Walk and bring your family and friends together for a leisurely 8-mile stroll. Ladies Fashion Show – Thursday 17 October 7:00pm – Village Hotel, Maidstone
Now the weather has turned cooler it’s time to treat yourself and renew your wardrobe. Why not arrange a night out with your bestie, or bring a group of friends to our fantastic fashion show. Light Up a Life Appeal.

Each year we hold our annual Light up a Life appeal, giving you the opportunity to dedicate a star in memory of a loved one.  As part of the appeal we hold two remembrance services, where you are invited to come together as a community to share memories, reflect and listen to beautiful seasonal music and readings.  All your dedicated stars receive a blessing at the services and are placed on the Christmas tree at the Hospice until Monday 6 January.

Voices for Hospices 2019 – Saturday 2 November 7:30pm
Join us in Mote Hall, Maidstone Leisure Centre for Voices for Hospices 2019.
Voices for Hospices is a global event that sees local communities coming together to sing and support their local Hospice.

The semi-staged performance this year is Iolanthe, a comic operetta by Gilbert & Sullivan. Set 25 years after fairy Iolanthe committed the ultimate crime of marrying a mortal, this satirical fantasy is filled with brilliant wit. This fantastic evening will feature professional soloists, Maidstone Choral Union and a plethora of singers and orchestral performers.
