Hollingbourne Parish Council and complaints about noise from Greenway Court Road Quad Bikes.

Hollingbourne Parish Council has been made aware of recent complaints about the noise from the quad bike circuit in Greenway Court Road. Most of the noise occurs on Sundays and over the last decade the issue has been reported no less than 55 times on this website.

Maidstone Borough Council has the statutory power to control the use of the site and very little can be done if it used for private events on no more than fourteen occasions in any one year. The advice to Hollingbourne Parish Council was provided by Maidstone Borough Council 2012 and can be found at https://www.hollingbournepc.kentparishes.gov.uk/more-complaints-about-the-noise-from-quad-bike-site

A full list of reports about the quad bikes including Parish Council Minutes is at https://www.hollingbournepc.kentparishes.gov.uk/?s=quad+bike

Hollingbourne Parish Council will continue to press Maidstone Borough Council for a resolution of this noise and occasional traffic problem.

Over the years many people including Leeds Castle have taken issue with the noise but it still continues. There are other nearby quad bike sites on the Ashford Road and off Hospital Road. It is regretted that Hollingbourne Parish Council has had a similar lack of success to date with the damage caused by motor bikes on the Pilgrim’s Way and along Target Lane in particular which is badly rutted.
