Kent Police serve Section 61 eviction order on caravans on Hollingbourne’s Lance Memorial Playing Field. – UPDATED.

Kent Police have today issued a Section 61 eviction order on a number of caravans that arrived today on Hollingbourne’s Lance Memorial Playing Field. They have been asked to vacate the Field no later than 10am on Saturday 3rd August.

Hollingbourne Parish Council who own the Field, which was locked are fully supportive of the Police action. In order to gain access to the Field the caravan owners appear to have broken the lock on the gate. It is understood that the Cardwell Pavilion has been entered.

UPDATE on 3rd August – The caravans have left the Field and Hollingbourne Parish Council has re-secured the gate and an damage assessment is under way. Maidstone Borough Council have collected the rubbish left behind.
