Over 100 attend the 170th Annual Summer Show in the Village Hall.

Over 100 people attended the 170th Leeds Castle and Hollingbourne Garden Society Summer Show in Hollingbourne Village Hall this afternoon. Society Chairman John Ross said that it was one of the biggest shows for many years and commented that the Summer Show usually attracted fewer entries than the Spring and Autumn Shows.

The winner of the most prizes was former Chelsea Gold Medallist from Greenway and Parish Councillor John Cobbett was invited to present the many prizes. As well as flowers there classes for vegetables, cakes, and one especially for children which was won by William Stroud. Cream teas and other refreshment were served both in the Hall and outside on the forecourt in the sunshine.

The next Show is the Autumn Show on 14th September in the Village Hall and the Society’s website is https://www.lchgardensociety.co.uk/#! In addition to the events listed on the Society website there will be an evening visit to a garden in August.
