M20 junction 9 to junction 7 – road closures
We are writing to update you about overnight road closures on the M20 westbound carriageway between junction 9 and junction 7 planned to take place between 17 and 21 December.
We have now completed the majority of works including drainage, road surface and barrier works between junction 9 and junction 7, which is earlier than the anticipated late January 2019 completion date, and as a result we are able to bring the works schedule forward.
The upcoming closures (17 – 21 December 2018) will enable us to remove the temporary traffic measures such as barriers, cones and signage and return the motorway to three lanes. Speed restrictions will also be lifted so this section will return to national speed limit.
In order to minimise disruption to the public, the majority of the works will be completed overnight between the hours of 8pm and 6am, Monday to Friday (inclusive). Please note that dates could be subject to change due to unforeseen weather conditions.
To deliver the work safely, traffic overnight will be controlled using temporary traffic management and a clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A20.
The final phase of the works will resume in the new year, with the installation of CCTV technology and carriageway works.
If you have any questions about this work please contact us via Highways England Customer Contact Centre on 0300 123 5000, or by emailing email@example.com.
I would like to thank you for your continued cooperation whilst this essential work is carried out.
