Roxhill PLC to apply for new development at Woodcut Farm.

Roxhill PLC, who have previously sought to develop Woodcut Farm at Junction 8 of the M20, for use as warehousing are trying again and an application for planning permission is to be shortly filed with Maidstone Borough Council. Hollingbourne Parish Council has previously opposed all applications for development at Woodcut Farm but has agreed to meet with the representatives of Roxhill PLC at a special Parish Council Meeting in the Cardwell Pavilion at 6.30pm on Monday 30th March. All are welcome to attend.

The site was previously proposed for the KIG development which was defeated with some £3 million of public money from Kent County Council and Maidstone Borough Council. It is is close to the proposed Waterside Park development on the A20 at Junction 8 which is subject to a public inquiry in May.

The latest plan is for a development of 48,000 square metres which is about 395,000 square feet and will have parking places for 560 cars. Further details are at http://www.roxhill.co.uk/portfolio/maidstone/ or on the documents below which can be downloaded from this website.

Development at Junction 8 has been consistently opposed by all local Parish Councils including the Hollingbourne Parish Council, Leeds Castle, Kent County Council, CPRE, and the local MP. All Faversham and Mid Kent General Election Candidates have been asked for thie views and so far both the Labour and Liberal Democrat Prospective Parliamentary Candidates have exprssed opposition to development at Junction 8.
