South Eastern Trains have announced a new timetable for trains running to and from Hollingbourne with effect from 20th May. A number of trains have had their timings changed by a few minutes including the post rush hour weekday morning trains. The first hourly morning London trains will now start at 8.51 instead of 8.53 and then run from 9.54. At present the service is 9.51 and then 9.59 and 59 minutes after the hour for most of the day.

Hollingbourne Station is unmanned and over 40,000 passengers a year use the Station which benefit from free car parking in the Station Yard and in Station Lane although just now the verges alongside the Lane are extremely muddy and not recommended for parking. The average journey time from London is around 75 minutes for the 43 mile journey. It is also the nearest station to Leeds Castle.
Hollingbourne Parish Council will be represented to the Kent Annual Rail Summit in County Hall on 14th May when local Councils from all over Kent have the opportunity to meet with senior management of South Eastern Trains and Network Rail in order to discuss local issues.
