The Windmill Inn under new management

The Windmill Inn in Hollingbourne has today announced via their Instagram that they are no longer part of the Richard Phillips Group. The 16th century grade II listed venue in Eyhorne Street will now be run by Hush Heath Hospitality Ltd, who are owned by the award winning winery Hush Heath.

Kent based celebrity chef Richard took over the running of the pub in 2012 alongside his first restaurant, Thackeray’s in Tunbridge Wells which earned him his first Michelin star.

Hush Heath Winery, based in Staplehurst also run a small selection of highly successful pubs, including the WoolPack in Tenterden.

The Windmill Inn in Hollingbourne was part of the larger pub group Enterprise Inns, alongside the Sugar Loaves. The group was recently sold to Slug & Lettuce Pub group Stonegate, making Stonegate the UK’s largest pub owner. Whilst both the Windmill and the Sugar Loaves remain part of this larger group, Hush Heath have taken over the lease at the Windmill from Richard.

In a later addition The Windmill added that:

‘We are delighted to confirm that the team have all remained and are looking forward to continuing the excellent levels of food and service our customers have come to expect.’
