The Parish Clerk has advised members of the Hollingbourne Parish Council that a swing has been stolen from the Children’s Playground on the Lance Memorial Playing Field. Please Read More for her report to the members of the Parish Council.
It is with much sadness that I have to tell you that the net swing in the Hollingbourne children’s playground has been stolen, and I believe that this happened from the 21st March onwards.
I have reported the matter to the Police and will be checking the CCTV for these days to see if the culprits are on camera. The field is locked up at night and so I am wondering if it was stolen by people pretending to be Council workers during the day. Please can this information be cascaded to villagers, particularly parents who may have seen the swing removed, as any information that I can forward onto the Police would be very much appreciated?

If you have any information which could help could you please contact the Clerk, any member of the Parish Council, or Kent Police. – Thank you.
Mrs Helen Bradley Wyatt, Headteacher of Hollingbourne County Primary School also writes:
Unfortunately we have recently had a theft too. All the wood from our log store was taken which was distressing for the children as they really enjoy campfire club and added to this, the wood was kindly donated by a parent! The intruders seemingly climbed through the fence from the farmer’s field. On a separate occasion, we also had all our sheds broken into, however nothing was taken.
